FILM SYNOPSIS

A young Black woman, facing her impending incarceration, spends her final day of freedom lost in quiet reflection, unraveling the heartache of having done everything right, only to be undone by a justice system that promises fairness—just not to those who look like her.

In her final hours of freedom, Micah grapples with the crushing reality of being incarcerated for a crime she didn't commit. As the day unfolds, she shares final exchanges with her loved ones, each interaction colored by the sorrow of impending separation. The weight of her unjust conviction looms, a grim, inescapable truth she must face alone. In the evening, she seeks solace in her parents' embrace, finding strength in their love, uncertain if it will be enough to endure the unpredictable future ahead. This poignant meditation on wrongful incarceration explores the emotional toll of a justice system that operates exactly as it was designed to, highlighting the devastating impact of another Black life unjustly interrupted.

BIO

Princess Aja Knight is captivated by the stories that remain untold, the voices often left unheard. From an early age, she dedicated herself to unearthing the narratives that are overlooked, cultivating a passion for the unique and the controversial, particularly those that belong to marginalized communities.

After earning a degree in Film and Television Production with a minor in Political Science from Oakwood University, Aja sought to deepen her knowledge and expand her reach, pursuing a Master's degree at the City College of New York. As she nears the completion of her graduate studies in Spring 2025, Aja continues to refine her craft, creating films that provoke thought, challenge perceptions, and illuminate the stories that deserve to be seen.
