Justis Fiduccia is an emerging filmmaker known for his dynamic and adventurous style. Born with autism, Justis graduated from SUNY New Paltz and is a current grad student at City College of New York. He has built a reputation for his ability to capture compelling stories in challenging environments. His work often features a guerrilla-style approach, producing gritty yet high-quality short and long-form content that showcases the raw and authentic aspects of his subjects.
Justis and this film are a perfect fit. Not only is Justis Foronjy’s step grandson, but his commitment to accuracy and the proper use of dramatization gives the film a presence and accuracy that another film of its type could never achieve.
FILM SYNOPSIS
'From the Mob to the Movies’ traces the life and ultimate redemption of the late ‘Richard Foronjy’ - a charismatic retired mobster who made it big both on the streets and on the silver screen.
From starring opposite of Al Pacino to tending his garden in upstate New York, ‘From the Mob to the Movies’ traces the high and lows of the life of retired actor and Brooklyn mobster Richard Foronjy. Family and personal interviews combined with visits to key locations from his past performances brings reconciliation to his life of crime and fame. Filmmaker Justis Fiduccia, discovers his step grandpa’s extraordinary journey from criminal activities and eventual imprisonment for theft, to his audition for the film "Serpico,"and the beginning of his new career in the film industry. Justis also learns how he affected those around him and whether he had redeemed himself in their eyes.
