Filmmaker Hannah Sutherland returns to her birthplace in Hubei, China for the first time since her adoption, following traces of a story that was never told.

Hannah was adopted by an American family in 2002 and grew up in Wisconsin, thousands ofmiles from her origins. More than two decades later, she returns to search for a connection toher past. Since names were lost and shame kept stories buried, finding her birth parents is outof reach. Instead, she seeks her orphanage and places tied to her abandonment, unsure whatremains.
