After spending her formative years in a New York penitentiary, rapper Chyna Streetz carves a new path in the music industry, eventually securing a Roc Nation distribution deal. Supernova blends raw personal reflection with the realities of underground rap, capturing not only her artistic journey but her transformation as a woman. Through unfiltered lyricism and relentless resolve, Chyna rises as a symbol of resilience and power in a male-dominated industry where few are given the chance to thrive.

BIO
Michelene Mallard is an award-winning Brooklyn-born filmmaker with roots in both New York and Birmingham, Alabama. Renowned for her portrait documentaries and narrative work centering Black American culture, she draws creative inspiration from trailblazing Black artists such as Gordon Parks, Terrence Nance, Jenn Nkiru, Arthur Jafa, and Ava DuVernay, shaping a distinct and emotionally resonant storytelling style.
A proud alumna of Miles College with a BA in Journalism, Mallard is completing her MFA in Documentary Film at The City College of New York. Through her independent production company, Karaokeandvodka Productions LLC, she blends her background and vision to craft immersive, thought-provoking stories that amplify marginalized voices and engage audiences around the world.
