ABOUT Cityvisions


Cityvisions is the annual capstone event at which students from the MFA Program in Film at The City College of New York screen and premiere their thesis films. This annual showcase is a major festival event and awards ceremony and this year will be held at the Auditorium on Broadway, 1871 Broadway, New York, NY 10023, between West 61st and 62nd Streets.


The festival is a juried event with judges from the film industry awarding prizes to promising filmmakers in twelve categories. Guest speakers at past Cityvisions events include Christine Vachon, Alan Heim, DA Pennebaker, Sigourney Weaver, Hal Hartley, Peter Bogdanovich and Albert Maysles. Some of our award sponsors include: National Board of Review, New York Women in Film & Television, Adorama, AbelCine, PostWorks and Entertainment Partners. Cityvisions attracts an audience of over 1,200 people, including distributors, agents, film festival directors and cinema lovers from the New York community.
