Alex Lora is a Spanish filmmaker based in New York whose work explores identity, displacement, power dynamics, and the complexities of the human condition. A Fulbright scholar, he earned an MFA in Media Arts Production from the City College of New York. His films have screened at major international festivals, including Sundance, where he won the Grand Jury Prize in 2024. Lora has received nine New York Emmy Awards, a Goya, two Gaudí Awards, and was shortlisted for the Oscars and nominated for the Student Academy Awards. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an advocate for disability inclusion in film.
