    A male teenager, Sheng, wakes up in a clinic with no memory of how he got there. His doctor and parents tell him that everything is fine and he will feel better soon; however, he finds that he has endured a peculiar and unknown change. He struggles to uncover the truth about his illness and resorts to reading his diary. When he finally discovers the truth, he faces a choice between his family’s religious beliefs and his own identity.

    Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Jessie Chang is a writer-director based in New York. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Film Directing at The City College of New York. Before shifting her profession to filmmaking, Jessie worked as a journalist back in Taiwan, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. She has been devoted herself to media work since completing her college education. She also worked as a news editor and a photographer in the past few years. She is now working toward a career as a filmmaker. 'Straighten Out' will be her short film debut.
