Synopsis

¿Mamá Eres Feliz? is a Spanish narrative short film based off a true story about the immense impact of generational violence. It examines the dynamic of matriarchy between a bitter grandmother, an uptight mother and a misconstrued daughter who’s stuck in the middle of it all. The family remains looped in their own drama without any regard to how high the stakes can go. This film exploits the stereotypical culture of a Latino family, from physical punishment to religious guilt- two contradicting tools that really set the tone. The grandmother’s wit and chaotic behavior towards her daughter suggest there is always a lesson to be learned.
